Meet Our Teachers

Nia teachers come in all shapes and sizes. They teach in many languages and share the Nia experience with students all around the world. While teaching Nia does not require a movement or fitness background, it does require dedication, practice and a passion to be your very best!

Debbie Rosas

Debbie Rosas

Nia Teacher Trainer and Co-Founder

Nia inspires me to continue on a personal journey of self-discovery, self actualization and healing. For me, learning is one of the most exciting journeys and being in a body is one of the most poetic and romantic experiences. I thrive on educating, motivating and inspiring people to fall in love with themselves and their bodies. To me, life is my art and my body is the canvas.

Nia Black Belt Teacher

As a 20+ year Nia Teacher, I have consistently noticed that the power to move is alive and well in every one of us who step-in to class. Whether your preference is for fitness or ecstatic dance, the key to sustaining a healthy relationship with your body is through a conscious movement practice. My classes in self-healing and freedance will joyfully inspire you into a deeper conscious movement experience. Come practice with me.

Fred Bass

Nia Black Belt Teacher

I came to Nia via the merging of a hip injury that had sidelined me from my life long passion of participating in sports, be it running 5k, 10k, marathons, golfing, softball or the occasional pick up game of hoops. My sister-in-law challenged me to attend her Nia class at a point that I felt I had few alternatives for moving. I bring a sense of balance to class – a balance for your body, mind, emotions and your spirit.

Nia Teacher Trainer

In 1987 Nia revolutionized my career as a fitness professional as well as personally. My goal in every Nia class is to interweave the movement Nia Technique, intention, spirit and community all for the benefit of the body, mind and soul. With Nia, I have had the opportunity to develop a number of somatic programs to include a college-accredited curriculum, corporate wellness retreats, health care and instructor trainings.
